Albums

Toto's discography consists of 13 studio albums and 4 live albums. There are also a few compilations. Toto has released original music and collaborated with other artists on soundtracks and films. Toto has won numerous Grammy Awards for their work.
Before the formation of Toto, band members did sessions for other musicians. Drummer Jeff Porcaro, bassist David Hungate and keyboardist David Paich (the son of session percussionist Marty Paich and brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro) played on Boz Scaggs album from 1975 Silk Degrees. The group's collaboration led to the formation of Toto in the year 1976.
Turn Back, Toto's third studio album, was criticized by critics for not having hit singles. In 1985 the group's lead singer Fergie Fredericksen resigned The band held auditions to find a replacement frontman. The band chose guitarist Steve Lukather, and recorded Fahrenheit in the year 1986.
Toto released Toto XX in 1998 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the band. The band went through old recordings and tapes to create the unique record. The album was well-received by fans, and Toto embarked on an extensive tour with former members Bobby Kimball Steve Porcaro and Joseph Williams.
Shem Von Schröck replaced Leland Sklar as the drummer during the tour in support of the 40 Trips Around the Sun album. In the year 2017, Toto released the double-CD set Falling in Between. It included recordings from the tour as well as an interview with the group.

The TOTO Museum is a futuristic building that has several exhibition rooms that are dedicated to presenting the story of the company and its most innovative products. Its exhibits include toilets, faucets and tableware that have aided the expansion of the TOTO brand over the past half century. The museum also features special exhibits throughout the year.
TOTO's philosophy is "Enriching People's Lives with Water" and they are dedicated to bringing the benefits of water to all in the world. They are working towards their goal of a world in which everyone has access safe, clean drinking water by 2050.

Toto has released a variety of music videos. The band has released a variety of compilation videos and DVDs. The most watched video by the band is "Africa", with over one billion views. The video is set in a library and shows the group performing on top of a pile of books about Africa.
The track "Africa" is from the album Toto IV. The song was written by band members and produced by David Paich. It was a huge hit in Europe and other countries. The success of the single helped Toto gain popularity after their previous album, Turn Back, failed to chart in the United States.
Toto embarked on a worldwide tour following the release their album. The group was joined by touring musicians Lenny Castro, Shannon Forrest, Warren Ham and Shem von Schroeck. In addition guitarist Steve Lukather released his second solo album, Luke.
In 1985, Fergie Frederiksen, Toto's drummer, left the group due to personal reasons. Toto held an audition to find an alternative for Frederiksen.
Prior to and during the creation of Toto, its members did sessions for many artists. Drummer Jeff Porcaro and bassist David Hungate were on the album Silk Degrees by Boz Scaggs, which led to Toto's formation. Keyboardist Paich was a regular on records by Steely Dan, Seals and Crofts, and Sonny and Cher.
In 1998, Toto began working on an album called Old Is New. The album featured three brand new tracks as well as a number of finished recordings of songs from the past. The album was a global success and the band toured on tour to promote the album.

Toto is famous for their hit single "Africa" The group recently reunited to promote their new album, All In. The album debuted on November 6, 2018, and included three brand new tracks from the upcoming 40 Trips Around the Sun, plus recorded versions of four older tracks that featured Jeff Porcaro on drums and either Mike or Steve Porcaro on bass. The album included a cover version of Weezer’s song “Hash Pipe” which they added after hearing it on the radio.
